The development of agriculture through the use of specific techniques and the establishment of systems to adapt to climatic conditions, the variety of activities in agriculture and animal husbandry, supporting the organization of associations of producers of the commune to benefit from the opportunities arising from it is a priority for local government.
Developing tourism through investments in accommodation capacity, recreational activities, hospitality services, an Aqua Park will be profitable for those who want to join such projects.
The lands that belong to the City Hall, available for investments are parceled as follows: urban – 8000 sqm + 6000 sqm; agriculture- 10 ha; 3; Investment Project Aqua Park– 3 ha;
Utilities: water and sewerage, gas in implementation
Due to the proximity to the mountain area, Valea Iaşului commune is an important transit route, being crossed by two national roads, respectively on a distance of 1.5 km from DN 7 C Curtea de Argeş –
Vidraru – Fagaraş Depression and 5.5 km from DN 73 C Rm. Vălcea – Campulung Muscel.The relief of the commune is mostly hilly, and in the western area it includes part of the river meadow Argeş. The territory of the commune belonged to the Curtea de Argeş Monastery until the agrarian reform of 1864, appearing as an administrative-territorial unit around 1785.
The Iași Valley boasts three historical monuments, namely St. Andrew’s Pneumoftiziology Hospital, the “Assumption” Church and the “Assumption” Church.
St. Andrew’s Pneumoftiziology Hospital was built in 1940 on top of a hill in the village of Ungureni, in the middle of a forest of firs, pines and oaks. Also, the Church of the Assumption “was built in 1855 in the village of Valea Iaşului, and the wooden Church” St. John the Baptist “was built in 1801.
