IRUM-Reghin-produces forestry tractors, agricultural tractors, funiculars, trolleys and spare parts
PRESENT
Founded in 1953, IRUM is a company specialized in machinery construction. Initially, operating as a state company, IRUM becomes a fully private owned company in 1999 with Maviprod as the main shareholder, dedicating itself since then mainly to the forest industry.
Today, after 65 years, we have over 500 employees and the factory in Reghin, Mures County, Romania, is 175,000 m2, and we still call it “home”. Based on our roots and extensive experience, the business expanded rapidly, IRUM becoming a leading supplier of a wide range of forestry equipment and spare parts on the Romanian market and beyond.
The group operations always focused on the production, development and service dedicated to forestry equipment. In 2010 we added the agricultural machinery. Our recipe for success is simple: we combine the experience and skill of our research and development centre with world-renowned integration technologies. On the other hand, IRUM has a network of spare parts service which is continuously expanding and developing to improve quality of services.
The design, development or vital feedback from our customers are the driving force behind our machines: each new model comes after years of virtual design, testing and prototyping before other steps are to be taken in the development process, and approximately 70% of forestry tractor components are of our own production. The range of products made at IRUM currently includes articulated forestry tractors, agricultural tractors, funiculars, trolleys and spare parts, but the factory also has CNC processing centre, casting, heat treatment line, tool house, welding, painting and service workshop.
PAST
Initially, operating as a state company, the first studies on forestry machines are realized in 1968 and the first TAFs are built just a year later.
In the coming years, the continuous innovation and development process raises to defining the models for today’s products, such as TAF 650 or TAF 657M.
IRUM becomes a fully private owned company in 1999, having Maviprod as the main shareholder, dedicating itself since then mainly to forest industry.
The coming years lead to improvement and refreshment of product range.
In 2010 a new era begins in our company’s history: the first agricultural tractors leaving the new assembly line, combining the Belarus reliable technology with IRUM’s skill and experience.
Also in 2010, IRUM makes the next step in upgrading products by launching the TAF 2010M model 2010M, our first machine where ergonomics and comfort in use received special attention.
The year 2012 marks the introduction of Perkins series 1200 prized engine with Tier IIIB stage of pollution. Furthermore, this is the year when we participated at the KWF-Expo fair with the newest and most advanced TAF 2012 model of the IRUM development centre.
In 2013 IRUM celebrates its 60th anniversary.
In 2015 we inaugurated the only Research and Development Centre of agricultural and forestry machinery with Romanian capital, the place where 40 engineers and specialists are formed and working.
In 2016 TAF 2012G with grapple is launched, the newest equipment conceived in our Research and Development Center, a Westen-like standard Forestry tractor, remarkable with state-of-the-art technology, efficiency and comfort.
In 2017 TAF 2012 G 6C and TAF 2012 PS 6C are launched, both being developed in our Research and Development Center, called IFOR. These machines have 153 HP and are part of a more emission-tolerant range.
The year 2018 marks the 65th anniversary for IRUM, as well as the 25th anniversary for MAVIPROD group. This year, TAGRO is launched, the new Romanian agricultural tractor TAGRO.
